Get to know me better

The Questions:
1.  Are you named after anyone?
Nope my mum just liked the name. It was either going to be Fiona or Corinna, or if I was a boy I was going to be called Neil hehe.

2.  When was the last time you cried?
About a week ago over something stupid as per!

3.  Do you have kids?
No but we have planned when we would like to start having them :) I want 4 and Gordon wants 2... I say compromise at 3 but will see what happens.

4.  If you were another person would you be a friend of yourself?
Yeah, I'm a pretty good friend I think. Caring, give advice when asked, try to make my friends happy. And a bit of a party animal and know how to have a good radge night on the town! :-D

5.  Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Not loads but how could I not use it when I live with Mr Sarcastic himself?

6.  Will you ever bungee-jump?
One day! I would love to. I hope to sky dive this year so bungee jumping could be next on the list.

7.  What's your favourite cereal?
Golden Nuggets but they are too sugary :( So Special K it is.

8.  What's the first thing you notice about people?
Sexy eyes and hair probably.

9.  What is you eye colour?
Green/brown mix

10.  Scary movie or happy endings?
I like a good scary movie now and again but romcoms are probably my favourites :)

11.  Favourite smells?
I'm with Susan on the petrol, smells like home to me (not that my family regularly set off petrol bombs or anything, they owned a petrol station). Other than that I like the smell of Gordon's cologne and my rats. But not my rats wearing cologne. And there is nothing wrong with liking the smell of my rats! Rats are as clean as the owner makes them. So mine always smell quite nice. Like hay.

12.  Summer or winter?
Summer is good since it has my birthday in June and I usually have a piss up with lots of mates. After the snow last winter, that season can lick my ass! Although I do love Christmas... aye it can still lick my ass but in a good way. Haha.

13.  Computer or television?
Don't know how I would live without Sky! What a saddo. But I love t'internets as well... still tv I think though.

14.  What's the furthest you've been from home?
Florida :)

15.  Do you have any special talents?
I can play the violin very well (if I do say so myself) and I guess I'm quite good at cheering people up.

16.  Where were you born?
Oban :)

17.  What are your hobbies?
Looking after my ratties, doing sponaneous things (like falconry and random holidays and adventures), tv, movies, internet, pen-palling

18.  Do you have any pets?
Yes! 7 gorgeous ratties. Love them to pieces.

19.  Favourite movie?
Edward Scissorhands or Clerks 2

20.  Do you have any siblings?
Yup one big brother Allan who is 31

21.  What do you wanna be when you grow up?
Well I think I'm already grow'd up so will say what else I want to do when I'm older: visit all 50 US states, see Canada and the Maldives, have some children and rescue some more rats.

2011 - My Year

2011

This is going to be a very self-centred post so if that bothers you then click away now!

2011 is going to be my year. I'm a bit worried about how excited I am for the year ahead, in case it doesn't all go as planned. There was a spanner in the works a couple of weeks ago but luckily it went away and I'm back on course again. Of course, 2011 will be a great year for both me and Gordon but I'm going to tell it from my point of view :)

Well, I finally feel properly settled down. I'm glad that me and Gordon managed to get on the property ladder, I had worried about it because of the recession and all that jazz but luckily we managed. I'm also grateful to have such a secure job, with all the redundancies going about I felt really sorry for a lot of people. I also like my job, which helps. I can't remember a time when I felt so happy with my life. I've usually always had some sort of crap going on, whether it's other people causing me shit or my own depression and anxiety. I still get down days but they have really decreased. I think it's partly due to this website which helped me immensely: http://www.thinkyourselfhappy.co.uk/ the steps are so small and easy to do but they help so much. Anyone going through depression may want to have a look at it.

New York

For years I have wanted to see NYC. As I am sure many people know! I had thought about doing a year's internship there and even had the forms to fill in. But it meant leaving Gordon for a year. In the end I had to choose. I chose my relationship. Some people agreed that was the right thing to do, other people told me I was missing out on my dream. I made the right decision for me. I love Gordon to bits and looking forward to being married. And now I get my dream of seeing New York WITH him. To say I am excited is an understatement. I so can't wait! We are going to do a few touristy things like the Empire State Building and Central Park but other than that I think we will just explore and see what we find. We will also go to a metal club to see if they are any better than Studio 24 :-p

Bird of Prey

This may not sound like a big thing to other people but it's a big thing for me. I have always wanted to do a bird of prey handling experience but it's usually quite expensive. Then through the website http://www.groupon.com/ they had a 24 hour offer on. The experience was just £24 down from £50. It's at a place called Raptor World in Fife. I've never been there so really looking forward to it. Me and Gordon will drive up on the motorbike and make a day of it. He's doing the experience too. It's not something he's really into but he's going to give it a go. If he just wants to watch then he can but I think he will manage it.

Spa Weekends

I can fully recommend the Norton House Hotel and Spa for weekends away, have a look here: http://www.handpickedhotels.co.uk/hotels/norton-house/ Gordon and I like to go there now and again to have a relaxing chill out weekend. I think everyone needs to do this because it's so good for recharging the ol' batteries. We may have a spa weekend in the summer holidays.

Getting Married

I will probably give the wedding a post of its own sometime. But yeah, one of the biggest days of my life will be happening this year. I'm so looking forward to it. Not just the wedding though, actually being married too. The amount of negative things I hear about being married is crazy. Marriage is completely subjective. If you are marrying someone you love and are happy with then you are more likely to have a good marriage. I can't wait to marry Gordon. I love the thought of being his wife :) How soppy lol.

Florida

Ahh the perfect end to a hopefully perfect year. Our honeymoon. Some folk go to quiet little islands like the Maldives. Not us... we are just big kids so Florida totally makes sense for us. I know people will wonder why we are going back to somewhere we have already been, why not try somewhere different? Basically because we know we will have a ball there. When we were there the last time it was fantastic. We want to have an unforgettable time on our honeymoon so thought we would go back for a guaranteed awesome time.

How will  2012 ever compete! Well. We also have plans for 2012 but keeping them under our hats just now.

First Post

First Post - Be Gentle

I have decided to start keeping a blog. I remember doing this back in the day on Live Journal and having fun reading friends' blogs and commenting on them. I don't know if anyone will actually be interested in mine, I'm not that different from the rest of the population but I have my quirks. I will share this openly with everyone, why hide away? I do wonder if anyone will actually read this. I intend to put links up on Twitter and Facebook so people know when I put a new post up.

Jumping on the Band Wagon

I am aware that some friends already do blogs and put links up whenever they put up a new post. I liked this idea and have therefore jumped on the wagon with everyone else. I tend to do this quite a lot in life. I should really go out and do things for myself, find new things, test them out, rather than just jumping on whenever anyone else does. Sometimes I may come across as a copycat (as people in high school/primary school would probably say) but basically instead of taking opinions from people I don't know, I take them from people I do know and trust. If someone recommends some make up for instance, I will probably go and get it because they have had a personal experience with it. If someone goes on a really good holiday somewhere and says it is amazing, I will probably look into it. I do my own thing too but I enjoy trusting my friends in what they do.

My Friends

I find my friends have exquisite taste. Some are into doing up their homes, some into make up and others into music and films. Or a combination of everything! I'm lucky to have friends with such great taste in things like this as it means I in turn follow suit and then end up discovering things for myself. Like when I saw some friends do the Love Film rental service, I tried this out and discovered so many interesting films and found out that I am into Art House films. Anything weird and arty and I love it. I have also discovered things on my own but it's nice to have a helping hand.

That's all Folks

That will do for now. Expect my blog to be a bit strange at times. I have weird ponderings. Or maybe they are completely normal? Who knows.
